Chinese tech company Engine AI is gearing up to write a new chapter in space history — by launching the world's first "robot astronaut" into space. To achieve this ambitious Humanoid Robot Astronaut Program, they're collaborating with Beijing Interstellar. The star of this mission is a humanoid robot called PM01. It's no ordinary robot — it's a smart machine capable of making its own decisions with speed and agility. Engine AI and Beijing Interstellar plan to specially upgrade it to withstand the harsh conditions of space and operate freely without human supervision. PM01's key feature is its ability to move like a human. It will have an interactive screen on its chest, the ability to rotate its torso up to 320 degrees, and a body constructed from strong yet lightweight aluminum. The company believes robots like PM01 will be far more effective than humans at repairing space stations, exploring dangerous environments, and conducting long-term monitoring. Most importantly, they can replace humans in life-threatening tasks, dramatically improving the safety of astronauts. Ref: Technology Innovation
