Chinese robotics company Unitree has introduced a new humanoid robot named "Superman." The robot can reach speeds of up to 12.66 meters per second (28.3 mph) and has the ability to jump while standing upright to a height of 2 meters. The robot, with a leg length of 0.85 meters, was constructed over a period of 3 months.

If this speed claim proves accurate, it would exceed Usain Bolt's record of 12.42 meters per second achieved in the 100-meter sprint in 2009. However, these speed and jumping capabilities are only claims made by Unitree and have not yet been independently verified as official world standards.

As of July 2026, Unitree has shipped approximately 18,000 humanoid robots. Additionally, following its Initial Public Offering (IPO) which raised 6.1 billion yuan (US$905 million), the company is preparing to commence trading on Shanghai's STAR Market.
