Chinese humanoid robot company UBTECH Robotics has signed an agreement with aircraft manufacturer Airbus to purchase the company's latest industrial humanoid robot, the Walker S2, for use in Airbus production facilities, the Shenzhen-based company announced on Sunday. The partnership follows a strategic collaboration with US semiconductor company Texas Instruments last year, and marks another step in UBTECH's expansion. The company's humanoid robots are now being deployed across five major global sectors beyond China's domestic industry: aviation, automotive, 3C electronics, smart logistics, and semiconductor manufacturing. Humanoid robots are increasingly valued as a new force in quality manufacturing. Both companies will jointly expand the use of humanoid robots across aviation manufacturing environments. In 2025, UBTECH Robotics received orders for humanoid robots worth over ¥1.4 billion (approximately $200 million), ranking it number one globally. In 2026, production capacity for industrial humanoid robots is expected to reach tens of thousands of units, with gradual expansion into overseas manufacturing markets including Europe and the United States.
