Tata Electronics, an India-based company critical to iPhone manufacturing, has confirmed that it suffered a major cyberattack and had confidential information stolen from tech giants like Apple and Tesla.
Following the disclosure, the company has immediately restricted access to critical internal systems and is conducting emergency investigations.
According to Reuters, hackers stole over 200,000 files (approximately 630 Gigabytes of data in total) and uploaded them on the Dark Web.
The stolen data includes detailed hardware specifications, manufacturing processes, and future product plans of Apple, which could potentially cause economic damage to major companies.
As a result of this incident, Tata Electronics has hired a global consulting firm to assess the situation and has also notified customers and the Indian government about the breach.
Due to data breaches from such external manufacturing partners, concerns about cybersecurity risks within the global supply chain are growing in the tech world.
