US-based Agility Robotics officially introduced Digit 5, a next-generation humanoid robot designed to work alongside humans in warehouses, factories, and industrial settings, on September 15, 2026. The humanoid robot stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 284 pounds (129 kilograms). Compared to the previous generation Digit 4, it features 40 percent greater lifting capacity and can repeatedly handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds (22.7 kilograms), according to the company.

In terms of performance, Digit 5 can operate continuously for nearly 90 minutes on a single charge, with battery recharging taking only about 9 minutes. Thanks to this rapid charging system, it can achieve over 20 hours of actual operational time within a 24-hour period. Additionally, it can reach objects up to 7.2 feet (2.2 meters) high, and is equipped with numerous safety sensors to detect nearby workers and stop immediately or take evasive action when necessary.

According to Agility Robotics, the original Digit humanoid robots have logged over 65,000 operational hours in leading companies including Amazon, Toyota, and logistics company GXO. At a GXO facility near Atlanta, Digit 4 achieved nearly 98 percent accuracy while handling 100,000 boxes during its deployment. Currently, Agility Robotics has received orders valued at over $300 million and plans to begin deliveries in the first half of 2027.
