Wang Xingxing, the 36-year-old founder and CEO of China-based Unitree Robotics, has become China's first humanoid robot industry billionaire as the company prepares to launch its initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

His net worth has reached up to $2.4 billion USD, and the company aims to raise $904 million from this share offering.

Founded in 2016, the company manufactures robot dogs and humanoid robots. Recently, it unveiled the GD01, a 3-meter-tall rideable humanoid robot valued at $650,000 USD.

Over the past year, the company successfully shipped 5,511 humanoid robots worldwide and achieved revenue growth exceeding 300 percent.

However, the company faces challenges ahead. In addition to difficulties stemming from U.S. national security concerns and import restrictions on new Chinese robots, Unitree faces intense market competition with over 200 competing humanoid robot manufacturers in China by mid-2026.
