WhatsApp is reportedly developing a dedicated location request card designed to make asking "Where are you?" far simpler for users arranging meetups, according to Android Authority.
The feature has been spotted in the Android beta version of the app, appearing as a location icon near the chat input box. Tapping it sends a specially designed request card to the recipient, who can then respond instantly by sharing either their live location or a one-time pin with a single tap, eliminating the need to type out the request manually.
This approach aims to streamline a common but often clunky process, as users previously had to rely on text messages before switching to the separate location-sharing menu. The feature is currently limited to beta testers, and WhatsApp has not confirmed a timeline for a wider public rollout.
Given that WhatsApp remains the most widely used messaging platform in Myanmar, this update could meaningfully improve everyday coordination between friends, family members, and colleagues once it becomes widely available. Users interested in trying new features early can typically do so by joining the WhatsApp beta program through the Google Play Store.
