Xiaomi's upcoming flagship phones will feature a "Smart privacy display" similar to Samsung's, a new feature that will be implemented at the hardware level. This feature will narrow the viewing angles to make it difficult for people standing beside the phone to see the screen content.
A tester of Xiaomi HyperOS global ROM discovered this feature. Additionally, users will be able to use the "App privacy display" feature, which automatically activates the privacy display when launching specific apps that users have designated themselves.
Furthermore, Xiaomi is also testing a feature that allows users to group apps and toggle the privacy display on or off simultaneously for all apps in a group. Currently, the App privacy display and app grouping features are only available in HyperOS China ROM versions, but they are expected to be included with the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Series next month.
