A Russian court has ordered Google to pay a fine of 1.2 undecillion euros ($1.41 undecillion) for restricting Russian media channels on YouTube.
According to Digi24, the case relates to Google blocking or removing Russian state broadcaster channels following international sanctions. Because Google has not complied with the court orders, the daily fines have doubled over time, accumulating to this staggering total.
The amount exceeds both Russia's GDP and Alphabet's market capitalization, and is approximately one million times larger than the world's estimated annual GDP of around $100 trillion. It is also about 10,000 times larger than all the money currently in circulation globally.
Reports note widespread skepticism about whether the fine can realistically be enforced.
