PGYTECH's New Kit Turns Your iPhone Into a Mirrorless Camera
PGYTECH has launched the RetroVa Vintage Imaging Kit on Kickstarter — a modular camera system that makes using your iPhone feel like shooting with a real mirrorless camera.
Camera accessory company PGYTECH has launched the RetroVa Vintage Imaging Kit on Kickstarter — an exciting new accessory for iPhone users that transforms the shooting experience to feel like handling a real mirrorless camera. It also brings the kind of external camera module technology seen on Chinese phones like Xiaomi and Vivo to the iPhone 16 Pro and 17 Pro series.
The kit comes in two main configurations. Even the standard model includes a camera-style grip, a two-stage shutter button, a zoom control, and dials for manually adjusting ISO and exposure — giving you the feel of a real camera while shooting on your phone.
The higher-end model adds a 2.35x telephoto lens, enabling 10x optical zoom on the iPhone 17 Pro and up to 12x on the iPhone 16 Pro. This makes it far sharper than digital zoom when shooting wildlife or sports events from a distance.
Another notable feature is a built-in MicroSD card slot, allowing creators to save ProRes video directly to a card. A dedicated app with retro design and manual controls is also available. The Kickstarter campaign, which launched in late January 2026, has already hit its funding goal, with shipping expected in March and April.
