For the first time in over a decade, Apple has officially launched a new budget-friendly laptop called the "MacBook Neo." This new model sits below the Pro and Air in the lineup and, as rumors suggested, features the chip system used in iPhones, comes in attractive colors, and starts at a price of $599. Despite the affordable price, the specs are quite impressive. It sports a 13-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD display (2,408 x 1,506px) with up to 500 nits brightness, and includes a 1080p camera. It uses a Magic Keyboard without backlighting, though the 512GB model includes Touch ID. The chassis is made from 90% recycled aluminum, keeping the weight down to just 1.23 kilograms. For performance, a key advantage is the A18 Pro chip — first introduced with the iPhone 16 Pro in 2024 — paired with 8GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage. According to Apple, the laptop is 50% faster at web browsing and 3x faster at AI tasks compared to Windows laptops using Intel Core Ultra 5 chips. Battery capacity is 36.5Wh, delivering up to 16 hours of video playback. On the software side, it runs macOS 26 Tahoe with Apple Intelligence. It comes in four attractive colors — Silver, Pink, Yellow, and Blue — and is available for pre-order, with availability starting March 11. Ref: GSMArena
