Just days before Mobile World Congress (MWC 2026) was set to begin, a scene in Barcelona sent shockwaves through the tech world — Xiaomi's high-performance supercar concept. This is no ordinary street car — it features a body that sits extremely close to the ground, a wide aerodynamic design, and a large carbon fiber spoiler prominently mounted at the rear. The Xiaomi logo is proudly displayed on the wheel covers.
Speculators believe this could be a Vision Gran Turismo (Vision GT) car, a collaboration with Polyphony Digital, the studio behind the famous Gran Turismo 7 game. The Vision GT program gives automakers a space to freely showcase their boldest ideas — especially around performance and EV technology — without being constrained by road regulations or production limits.
Xiaomi's participation in this project means it can reach millions of gamers and motorsport enthusiasts worldwide, easily introducing them to its high-end EVs. The company had previously announced that its SU7 Ultra would be added to the game. Founder Lei Jun has also emphasized that combining technology, design, and gaming culture is central to the company's automotive strategy.
Exact details about the car spotted in Barcelona are not yet confirmed, but between road test footage, teaser posters, and the gaming partnership, it is becoming increasingly clear that Xiaomi is building something big. The new supercar is set to be officially unveiled at MWC 2026, running from March 2 to 5.
