A startup called GRU Space is accepting reservations for a future lunar hotel, with prices ranging from $250,000 to $1 million.
While no exact opening date has been set, the company is planning test flights for 2029–2030 and hopes to welcome guests by 2032.
The hotel will use inflatable habitats designed to withstand micrometeorites, radiation, and extreme temperature fluctuations.
Later phases will see the structures covered with lunar regolith bricks for additional protection, with guests traveling to the hotel via vehicles from companies like SpaceX.
At this stage, GRU Space has no rockets, landing vehicles, life support experience, or regulatory approvals. The project remains in the planning stage — construction has not yet begun.
The first hotel will start by accepting a small number of guests in an inflatable habitat, with plans to later expand using lunar-produced bricks.
