OpenAI has rolled out a new Chat Lock feature for ChatGPT, allowing users to secure specific conversations with an added layer of privacy.
According to the company, the feature was designed for situations where users may be discussing something personal or planning a surprise and want to keep those conversations hidden when handing their device to friends or family members to show them something in another chat. This makes the feature particularly useful for people who use ChatGPT on shared devices, such as family tablets or communal computers.
Once a chat is locked, users will likely need to go through additional authentication to access it again, providing an extra layer of security for sensitive discussions. This update reflects OpenAI's ongoing efforts to improve privacy controls within the ChatGPT app as more users rely on it for both personal and professional conversations.
With many Myanmar users relying on ChatGPT daily for a variety of tasks, this new locking feature offers a practical way to keep sensitive chats private, especially when devices are shared among family members or friends.
