Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, has accused large Indian telecom companies of blocking Starlink's satellite internet service launch in India on social media platform X. Musk also stated that such restrictions constitute a crime against the Indian people.
In response to Musk's comments, India's Press Information Bureau (PIB) clarified that any company seeking a business license must comply with national security regulations. The government stressed it operates under an impartial policy without discriminating against any company. Additionally, opposition politicians called on Musk to specifically name the telecom giants allegedly blocking the service.
Currently, Starlink has prepared the necessary ground infrastructure to provide services in India but is awaiting final security approvals, including security clearance from India's Ministry of Home Affairs regarding border area information security.
