According to Bangkok Post, Gartner has outlined the major technology trends expected to become prevalent from 2027 onwards as follows:
🛑Non-Text AI Frontier – Moving beyond text-based Gen AI (LLM), technologies such as Large Quantitative Models (LQM) capable of precise mathematical, statistical, and physics-based computations, Speech Reasoning Models that can distinguish tone and emotion in speech, and World Models that can simulate real-world environments will emerge.
🛑Trustworthy Autonomous Systems – As AI agents become increasingly autonomous, companies will need AI context platforms and coding harnesses to control data access and authorization scopes. Additionally, identity verification and automated security patching systems will be necessary to protect against AI agent security breaches.
🛑Resilient Infrastructure – To address geopolitical instability and energy demands, Sovereign technology that allows organizations to independently manage data and systems, as well as Disposable applications that can be discarded after use, will emerge. Future developments will also include Wetware as a Service (Biological computing) technology that can drastically reduce electricity consumption.
