Chinese automaker BYD has introduced a super-fast Flash Charging system capable of up to 1,500 kW, allowing electric vehicles (EVs) to charge almost as quickly as filling a gas tank. Vehicles compatible with this system, paired with its new Blade Battery 2.0, can charge from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes. Even in extreme cold temperatures (-30°C / -22°F), they can charge from 20% to 97% in just 12 minutes. BYD plans to build up to 20,000 charging stations across China by the end of 2026 and currently has over 4,000 stations already in operation. On major highways, stations will be placed every 100 kilometers, while in major cities they will be available within just a few kilometers of each other. The company also has ambitions to expand internationally, though specific countries have not yet been announced. Ref: Technology Innovation
