Tesla Company is conducting engineering test drives of its first mass-produced Cybercab Robotaxi vehicles on public roads in Austin, Texas.

The specially manufactured vehicles operate as a two-passenger system and are completely devoid of a steering wheel, lever, and brake pedal. Instead, they fully utilize Tesla's AI system called Full Self-Driving (FSD) for complete autonomous driving.

On June 30th, Tesla and Elon Musk shared a video file on social media showing the Cybercab being driven within Austin.

During these test drives, although a safety monitor accompanies the vehicle on board, that person does not perform actions such as turning the steering wheel, pressing the brake, or accelerating.

Inside the vehicle, there are only two passenger seats and a large display screen that shows the route map, speed, and autonomous driving status, providing passengers with a more spacious area.

Currently, approximately 34 Cybercab vehicles are undergoing engineering verification and validation across Austin, which is an expansion of the previous robotaxi project that had been maintained and used with Model Y vehicles.
